Functional art has always been a fascinating subject for me. I love the fact that art embraces functionality to enhance the aesthetics of the product and adds excitement to the otherwise run-of-the-mill products.
Award winning artist Alastair Heseltine draws inspiration from nature and comes up with some stunning functional art.
“I am a sculptor working with mixed media relating to the environment. Imagery is guided by the inherent nature of material and by construction systems evolved through mindful observation and play. I also draw from the full spectrum of routines and activities that support my practice: Design, craft production, farming and rural life,” says Alastair on his site.
